Add BuildBase to v0's instructions
Give v0 the BuildBase rules once, as a saved instruction you tick in the prompt bar, or with npx buildbase init on the repository v0 keeps in GitHub.
v0 can also connect to BuildBase itself while it builds: Use BuildBase in v0.
A prompt tells v0 what to build once. An instruction tells it every time you tick it, so a later request does not add a second sign-in or a plan table next to BuildBase. What v0 takes is from v0's own docs, read on 5 November 2026.
A saved instruction: the docs skill
v0's instructions are reusable rules saved to your account and applied in any chat or project:
- Click + in the prompt bar, then under Instructions choose New Instruction.
- Give it a Title, such as "BuildBase".
- In Rule, paste the text of docs.buildbase.app/SKILL.md. It is the short integration skill this site serves: the rules for when to use @buildbase/sdk, the five-line position rule and where to read next.
- Click Add.
An instruction applies only while it is ticked: click + and check it before you send a prompt, and it stays on for later messages until you uncheck it.
The repository v0 keeps in GitHub
v0 works on a branch of a GitHub repository. On a clone of it, the SDK's own command writes the provider, the three sign-in route handlers, lib/buildbase.ts and the webhook route into a Next.js App Router app, with every secret left empty:
npm i @buildbase/sdk
npx buildbase init --org-id <your 24-character org id>Push the branch and v0 picks the files up. init is a terminal command, and v0's chat is not a terminal, so this runs on your machine, not inside v0.
Skills in v0
v0's docs describe skills for design systems, imported from a design system's sources on the Design Systems page. They do not describe importing a general skill such as the BuildBase integration skill, so use an instruction for now. The full skill lives in the public buildbase-app/claude-skill repository, for agents that take one.
Note
A shorter builder edition of the skill, under 10,000 characters and usable as
an instruction, an AGENTS.md block or a skill, is planned and not published
yet.
