Add BuildBase to Replit as a skill
Install the BuildBase skill into a Replit project from the Shell and add two lines to replit.md, so Agent starts every request from the BuildBase rules.
Replit can also connect to BuildBase itself while it builds: Use BuildBase in Replit.
A prompt tells Replit Agent what to build once. A skill and replit.md tell it every time, so a later request does not add Replit Auth or a plan table next to BuildBase. What Replit takes is from Replit's own docs, read on 5 November 2026.
The skill, from the Shell
Replit's docs say a skill installed in a project lives in its /.agents/skills folder and persists across chats, and that the npx skills command can install one. Open Tools > Shell and run:
npx skills add buildbase-app/claude-skillIt installs the full integration skill for @buildbase/sdk from the public buildbase-app/claude-skill repository, with its knowledge files for workspaces, billing, credits, webhooks and the HTTP API. If it lands somewhere else, move the folder under /.agents/skills/ (turn on Show Hidden Files in the file tree to see it). Replit's docs warn that skills installed from the internet have not been audited, so read its SKILL.md once yourself.
For a lighter start, you can instead save the text of docs.buildbase.app/SKILL.md, the short integration skill this site serves, as /.agents/skills/buildbase/SKILL.md.
Two lines in replit.md
Agent writes replit.md at the root of every project and reads it before every request. Add this section, from the Replit guide, so the rules hold even when the skill is not loaded:
## Sign-in, teams and billing
BuildBase (@buildbase/sdk) is the only sign-in in this app. Do not add Replit Auth, Clerk or a users table. Workspaces, roles, plans and credits live in BuildBase; app data stays in Replit Database and every query scopes by the workspace id from the BuildBase session. Secrets stay in the Secrets tool, never in code, never with a VITE_ prefix.Note
A shorter builder edition of the skill, under 10,000 characters and usable as
instructions, an AGENTS.md block or a skill, is planned and not published
yet.
