Add BuildBase to Bolt's knowledge or skills
Give Bolt the BuildBase rules once, as project knowledge, an agents.md file or a skill imported from GitHub, so every prompt starts from them.
Bolt can also connect to BuildBase itself while it builds: Use BuildBase in Bolt.
A prompt tells Bolt what to build once. Knowledge and skills tell it every time, so a later request does not add Bolt Cloud's sign-in or a plan table next to BuildBase. Bolt reads three places, and you need one of them. What each takes is from Bolt's own help center, read on 5 November 2026.
Project knowledge: the docs skill
In your project, click the gear icon at the top, then All project settings > Knowledge, and paste the text of docs.buildbase.app/SKILL.md. It is the short integration skill this site serves: the rules for when to use @buildbase/sdk, the five-line position rule and where to read next. Bolt's docs say knowledge applies to every prompt and is not cleared when you reset the context.
agents.md in the project
Bolt's docs say it finds and uses an agents.md file in the project by itself. Save the same text as agents.md, then attach it from the chat box: the plus icon, then Attach file. The main instructions have to be in agents.md itself; it can link to other files, such as this site's llms.txt.
The full skill, imported from GitHub
The full integration skill, with its knowledge files for workspaces, billing, credits, webhooks and the HTTP API, is in the public buildbase-app/claude-skill repository. In your project's Skills page (or the workspace Skills library), choose Add skill > From GitHub, paste the repository address, and pick the buildbase skill folder that Bolt finds:
https://github.com/buildbase-app/claude-skillBolt's docs say a skill imported from GitHub can be up to 2 MB and stays linked to its folder, so Update from GitHub brings in later changes. This folder fits under that. We have not run this import in Bolt ourselves; if it fails, use project knowledge instead. Bolt's docs also ask you to read a skill's SKILL.md before importing it, which is good advice for this one too.
Note
A shorter builder edition of the skill, under 10,000 characters and usable as
knowledge, an agents.md block or a skill, is planned and not published yet.
